New MBTA.com website

Yay, the MBTA finally has a decent website. Unfortunately, performance is really bad, but that’s expected for the first day. Hopefully they’ll get that fixed.

In other MBTA news, you can now buy monthly passes from the automated card/ticket machines. You can buy passes for the following month starting on the 15th of the month.

Boston is significantly better place to live than it was four days ago

Two reasons:

1) The first Chipotle in the Boston area opened on Friday. Chipotle is one of my favorite burrito joints and by far my favorite chain burrito. Many might call it a “gringo” burrito, but I like their use of all natural ingredients and meats. It’s located at 616 Fellsway, Medford, MA 02155.

2) The MBTA started handing out CharlieCards today. In case you don’t know, the CharlieCard is a contactless smart card which can hold passes and pre-paid amounts for use on subways and buses. I got one for the wife and me today. The CharlieTicket was driving me nuts; what a nightmare with the ~300% increase in bus loading times due to the slowness of CharlieTicket transactions.

Those two reasons alone instantly make Boston a much more livable city. Yay! This makes me happy. :)
