Bye bye car

A sale of the car has been agreed upon. The deal will be done on tomorrow night. I will be carless again soon.

It’s been good to me, but it was time for it to go. As my faithful readers know, I am not a fan of automobiles. One of my white friends recently told me that I’m the only Asian guy he knows who isn’t into cars. It’ll take me a lot longer to get into work, but I’m looking forward to a commute where I can relax and get some reading done.

Finally…

I got Good Monsters, the new Jars of Clay album, in the mail today. I pre-ordered it back in August, expecting that it’d get shipped a few days before the release date and that i’d get it pretty soon after the release date. Didn’t happen. It supposedly shipped in September 1st. First class mail usually only takes 2-5 days, so I should have received it by September 8th. Instead, I got it today, September 18th, 12 postal days after the ship date. I’m never going to pre-order a CD again.

Anyways, I’ll start listening to it and try to write a review in a few days. A CCM Magazine review calls it “unequivocally Jars’ best work yet.” I’m doubtful since I’ve already heard some snippits and it doesn’t come close to their best album so far (The Eleventh Hour). A bunch of us are going to see them live in November.

Charles and I don’t think VW’s are very reliable automobiles. But I still like their advertisement.

We walked by some movie shoot of this woman walking into the cab. I don’t know if she’s famous or anything but I took a picture of her just in case she was…

I’m sure lots of people take pictures of this but I still think it’s funny.

Here’s a very helpful document that explains when and how to use the em dash and en dash:

Crest Pro-Health Rinse causes staining?

Francis’ comment about Crest’s Pro-Health mouthwash causing teeth to stain was a bit scary to read. I’m usually reluctant to believe such claims because I haven’t heard any reports of it elsewhere.

But I recently took a more careful look at my teeth and noticed there were brown stains in some of the areas in between the teeth. nerd may be right in saying it only stains the plaque… But even then, most people (unless they floss religiously) have some amount of plaque in their teeth.

I can’t say for certain that the stains on my teeth are due to the mouthwash. My use of the Crest mouthwash coincided with me drinking black tea more regularly, so maybe it’s the tea?

To be on the safe side, I’ll be returning my Crest mouthwash to Costco for a refund. Maybe this is the reason why Costco has stopped selling it.
